The Flying Gurnard (Dactylopterus volitans) is a tropical and subtropical fish found mainly in the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. It is best known for its large, wing-like pectoral fins that spread out like wings, often decorated with bright blue edges or spotted patterns. Despite its name, it cannot truly fly, but it can glide swiftly along the seabed, giving the illusion of flying underwater. Flying Gurnards usually inhabit sandy or coral reef areas and feed on small fish and crustaceans.
