Van Gogh's Arles Period for Religious Art for FLUX. Van Gogh's Arles period, from February 1888 to May 1889, was one of his most productive and colorful phases. He moved to the southern French town of Arles, seeking brighter light and vibrant colors that would inspire his work. During this time, he created some of his most iconic paintings, including Sunflowers, The Yellow House, and The Night Café. He was captivated by the rural landscapes, fields, and changing seasons, using bold, expressive brush strokes and vivid, contrasting colors to capture the intensity of the Provençal scenery. Van Gogh hoped to establish an artist's community there and invited Paul Gauguin to join him, but their collaboration ended in conflict, leading to the infamous incident where Van Gogh cut off part of his ear. Despite his mental health struggles, the Arles period was marked by a remarkable creative outpouring, showcasing his vision of color, light, and emotional depth.
