Alphonse Mucha (1860–1939) was a Czech painter and decorative artist, best known for his distinctive Art Nouveau style. Mucha gained fame in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, particularly for his posters of actress Sarah Bernhardt, which featured elegant, flowing lines and intricate, decorative patterns. His work often depicted graceful women surrounded by floral motifs, elaborate details, and soft, muted colors. Mucha's style became synonymous with the Art Nouveau movement, influencing design in advertising, posters, and fine art across Europe. Beyond his commercial work, he created the monumental "Slav Epic" series, a set of 20 paintings celebrating Slavic history and culture.
