Melange is a merge that started from DucHaiten-StyleLikeMe. I wanted to preserve some of the style and flexibilty while making it more consistent and (subjectively) more beautiful. I mixed in a little bit of everything; endlessReality, Perfect World, a random anime model, majicMix, and maybe a few others. As a result it does suffer slightly from 1girlitis, if you know what I mean.
As with any model, experimentation is key to producing quality images. I usually start with a short prompt and then tune it with details but it also handles heavily engineered prompts relatively well. For steps, I've made good pictures from 20 to 110. CFG between 2 and 15. Starting at 512x512 or 512x768 is recommended but not required. Detailer Loras around a strength of 0.5 are good for upscaling.
Update: Melange Realistic is released. It's a bit "stickier" and less responsive to loras than the base but the results are indeed more realistic. That said, detail loras above a 0.3 can begin to "fry" your image. It is still quite flexible but definitely prefers shorter prompts. Less is really more here. Models included but were not limited to: LazyMix+, epicRealism, Realistic Vision, epicPhotogasm and Analog Madness. Unlike the base, Melange Realistic doesn't suffer from 1girlitis at all, producing unique faces with virtually every seed.
