How come there is no Chinese year of the Fox!?
I wondered at why, and the best answer i got was that the fox was excluded from the Chinese Zodiac due to its associations with trickery and moral ambiguity, which contrast with the virtues and order represented by the other zodiac animals.
Fox spirits in Chinese folklore are outsiders, but I suspect they would rather embrace their outsider status, since it symbolizes freedom from rigid cosmic roles.
