Lunicorns (Original Characters)

The Lunicorns

This is an original species/character concept I've been working on for a story idea I had.

They are basically just Unicorns that were given human forms by the moon goodess to save them from being hunted, and now they work together to build up and protect their homes from various monstrous creatures and the few intelligent species that still try to hunt them.

I started out posting the core members of the story on my DeviantArt account here, https://www.deviantart.com/zabadugremlin/gallery/97875122/free-use-lunicorns

with character profiles and some more back story elements. (I posted these updated versions of the designs here as well, to share the prompts used for them.)

And I opened it up for others to use those designs or create their own, I even offer some 'adoptable' characters on Deviant as well. This model is just a continuation of that, allowing anyone who my be interested to create their own characters in this style.

For now you can check the prompts in the example images posted here, and you can follow this (super) basic chart to get and idea of what makes up the designs.

animal ears = you simply add the color you want and it should always give horse-like ears and remove any human-like ears. If you have any color 'highlights' in your prompt, it may also apply them to the ear tips, though this wasn't specifically trained via captions.

unicorn horn (or single horn) = 'unicorn horn' is the caption used, but this sometimes causes an actual unicorn to appear in the imgae (unless you prompt for "solo"), using 'single horn' should help avoid this but it often does a blend of the skin tone and the chosen color, rather than a solid color.

hand fur/arm fur = this didn't have enough training data, so it's hit-or-miss; adding 'fand fur' usually ensures the fingers get covered, but stops around the wrists, adding 'arm fur' usually only covers the elbow to the wrists. so, using both should give the most coverage. (This is a rarity for the characters, hence the lack of training data, but I will fix it in the future)

leg fur = this extends from the hooves to about halfway up the thigh or just above the knees, this is part of the design, as many characters wear thighhigh stockings that cover this fur. (I may add other variations that extend higher in the future.)

tail (or thin tail) = 'thin <color> tail' is the official caption used, but I found just '<color> tail' works the same (if not better) in most cases. You will likely have to play with the weight strength on this one, as it can inherit the skin tone, or will use the 'tail tuft' color.

tail tuft = the fluffy bit at the end of the tail, it usually just blends the chosen color with the tail color in some way, but if it's causing the tail color to get overwritten you may need to lower the weight.

hooves = these will tend to be darker; browns, blacks, dark hues, so increasing the weight strength for other colors might help.

Clothing can pretty much be anything, they were training with more elaborate fantasy style clothing, but anything else should work fine.

Thighhighs however, work slightly differently, they will either completely ignore the leg fur color, or they will show slight edges of the leg fur. They should never fully cover the hooves, but sometimes the fur around the hooves gets blended into the thighhigh color.

The posted samples include inpainting to fix the eyes, using a simple "detailed eyes, gradient, shiny, <color> eyes" prompt, which will likely show before the base prompt. In case you try to copy the prompt exactly for your own generations, the base prompt starts with the "high resolution" bit.

This model was trained using the Illustrious-XL v2.0 checkpoint.

All generations are made using WAI-NSFW-illustrious-SDXL v15 and Fooocus, and upscaled to 2048x2048.

All of my models may be used for your own training and/or merges.
