Marcel Gotlib (1934-2016) was a French comic artist and writer famous for his subversive humor and quirky style. He began his career in Vaillant magazine, then made his mark in comic history with his contributions to Pilote, where he created series like La Rubrique-à-Brac, a hilarious blend of humor and absurd science. Gotlib also co-founded two iconic magazines, L’Écho des Savanes and Fluide Glacial, which captured the satirical and free-spirited vibe of the 1970s and 80s in France. Known for his dark humor, irreverence, and critique of social conventions, Gotlib left an indelible mark on French comics, influencing generations of artists.
