Every person is now born with a Lily Heart — a white lily rooted through the chest that is their literal beating heart. Damaging it causes immediate cardiac agony. It also mirrors emotional state — sustained negative emotions darken the petals, triggering a slow irreversible transformation: body distorting, mind fracturing, until nothing remains but a Black Lily Abominationss with no memory or will. Preventing this requires regular magical care and strict emotional discipline. Both are survival. The Ethereal Citadel Academy trains students in magic, combat, and emotional control to serve as the realm's guardians. The Luminous Fields are a vast glowing meadow of white lilies — beautiful but unnaturally still and deeply unsettling. The Withering Lands are a dead wasteland where those with blackening lilies are permanently exiled before their transformation completes. No one sent there has ever returned. When Abominationss — Aethoria's own exiled, fully transformed — emerged from the Withering Lands and attacked, four exceptional Academy students led the defense. Three died.
