Prompting: The strength

Updated:

Alright, so, there's a way to tell the AI how strongly it should focus on a specific part of your description, and that’s by using strength values. In this example case, I want a specific type of tattoos, but with the regular prompt, I'm not being very lucky.

Prompt: (masterpiece, best quality, absurdres, highres), amazing quality, very aesthetic, volumetric lighting, digital art style, drawn aesthetic, concept painting, ultrahigh definition, detailed background, solo, ((1boy)) male, upper body, random position, random details, cinematic, random pose, random angle, dynamic pose, dynamic angle, looking at viewer, indian american young adult male, long black hair, deep brown almond eyes, warm golden-brown skin, confident smirk, muscular build, tribal tattoos, sleeveless black hoodie, olive cargo pants, urban sneakers, leaning casually against graffiti wall, warm sunset light in alley, powerful aura, strong presence

Result:

As you can see, it's not bad, but it's not very defined. So I'm going to "boost" it, by adding strengths.

You just write it like this: “(tribal tattoos:1.5)”, and that number boosts the importance.

  • 1.0 is normal, no extra emphasis.

  • 1.5 means the model pays extra attention to that detail.

  • 2.0 is the absolute max — but I don’t recommend it.

Here's why: going up to 2.0 can sometimes break your prompt — like, the AI might overdo it, distort things, or ignore other elements. So I usually cap it at 1.8 just to stay safe while still giving things a punch.

It's great for stuff like glowing eyes:1.6, detailed armor:1.5, or neon background:1.7 — just don’t boost too many things at once or it loses focus. Prioritize 1–3 things you really want to pop and strengthen those.

The result at 1.5 strength, much better!
